Karim Vionnet "Du Beur dans les Pinards" #gamay

Saturday afternoon, late July summer heat, not too oppressive. It's a nice feeling to take out the arms and imitate the flaps of a 777 boeing. Cabin crew ready for landing.
We are in Morgon, Beaujolais, south Macon and north Lione. Roads are empty and houses closed... only a bunch of street signs pointing at the vignerons wineries.
Karim Vionnet lives close-by and is waiting for us with his beloved Gamay. Cherry juice and spices, 'crunchy' and harmonious. Refreshing!

Year: 2018
Degree: 13%
Region: Beaujolais (France)
Ideal for: the lovers of a red in summertime

Producer: Karim Vionnet

The opposition to the industrial wine in Beaujolais dates back to the '80 with the "Gang of Four of Morgon": Marcel Lapierre, Jean Foillard, Guy Breton and Jean-Paul Thévenet.

The four decided to limit the intervention in the vineyard and the winery, with the objective to reproduce authentic and natural wines.

Karim Vionnet is the disciple of Guy Breton, with whom he worked until he bought his first 2 hectares of vineyards in 2006 and started business on his own.
