"I let love slip away I met him after a few hours He came back without a complaint It has changed as the wind changes Summer wind, I'm going to the sea, what are you doing?" I'm not suddenly a poet, it's just a song by Max Gazze, Vento d'estate, definitely inspired by our wine. The breeze of the Passerina, briefly macerated giving more structure. Really satisfying!!
"This wine is produced thanks to a soil rich in stones and its exposure to the sun, the sea breeze and the meticulous work of people".
These are the words on the Controvento wine labels, the words of Vincenzo Di Meo.
We are in Abruzzo, in the province of Chieti, within the protected area of "Fonte delle Farfalle". Vincenzo is the owner of 5 hectares of land, whose vines - mainly Montepulciano and Trebbiano - are little more than 18+.
Apart from sun, wind and hard work, nothing else intervenes to alter the winemaking process, from the fields to the cellar, protagonist of spontaneous fermentations.
Sulfites and filtering not detected.
